E.platysema tastes similar to Eugenia burkartiana. E.burkartiana fruits are sweeter than platysema. E.platysema fruits has very dark red juice and jam like texture. this specie is native to Santa Catarina in Brazil and is super cold tolerant and can handle slight frosts.
